The railway bridge

The Ronciglione bridge is a bold, arched, iron bridge that crosses  the valley in which the Rio Vicano flows, near the town of Ronciglione.

It was used for the railway line Civitavecchia-Orte, closed to traffic in 1994.

Built in 1928 by Officine Savigliano, it has the distinction of being made up of parts hinged together, according to an isostatic scheme which was chosen because of the sinking nature of the ground.

Today, it dominates the picturesque old road of access to Ronciglione which ran next to the Rio Vicano. From up there you can enjoy a panoramic view of the town over the valley.
