The Fountain of Naples

Built in the 18th century, at the same time as the park of the villa Rem Picci, the fountain of Naples actually was a small spring. For about 250 years it has been used to water the wide and rich park of the Rem Picci property, that stretched from via XX Settembre to S. Amanzio. Nearby the fountain, high on a rock spur, we can still see an old “humpback” main, probably dug in the ancient times to channel the water into some wells, that can’t be found anymore. We can think that the water from the spring of Naples fed the fountain inside the Italian style garden of villa Rem Picci, near the coffee house.
